The launch of the new Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is a part of Ford's ambitious global electrification plan.
The MKZ Hybrid has an estimated fuel economy of 41 miles per gallon in the city, which is ahead of its nearest competitor by 6 mpg.
The 2011 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is powered by a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle I-4 hybrid engine, named one of Ward's 2010 "10 Best Engines".
The system combines the best elements of the gasoline engine and electric battery-driven engine to deliver optimal performance and fuel economy. The combined gasoline engine and electric motor provides excellent power of up to 191 net horsepower. The Lincoln MKZ Hybrid notches up to 47 mph in pure electric mode.
The MKZ also has better seating capacity and more standard safety features than other vehicles in the segment. The interiors of the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid boasts of standard Bridge of Weir leather seats. The famous luxury leather from Scotland is unmarked, allowing the natural beauty and character of the grain to show through a chromium-free tanning process, which makes it easier to recycle.
