2009 Lincoln MKS - indeed, a safe bet!

Friday, August 21, 2009

Luxury and class may make a car a matter of envy, but safety is what is of prime importance to the one flaunting it.

The 2009 Lincoln MKS has been named as a Top Safety Pick in the large luxury category by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

The IIHS is an independent, non-profit organization that is committed to reducing the losses caused due to highway accidents. Vehicles are rated by the IIHS after front, side and rear-impact crash tests.

IIHS rates frontal crash-worthiness based on results of 40 mph frontal offset crash tests. Side evaluations are based on performance in a crash test in which the side of a vehicle is struck at 31 mph. Rear crash protection is rated according to a test which simulates a collision in which a stationary vehicle is struck in the rear at 20 mph.

Top Safety Pick recognizes vehicles that do the best job of protecting people in front, side, and rear crashes based on these ratings. Winners also have to have electronic stability control (ESC), which , according to research, significantly reduces crash risk.

The mid-sized sedan 2009 Lincoln MKS earned the highest rating in its class, and we at Central Florida Lincoln Mercury, (Orlando, Fl) are happy to vouch for the 2009 Lincoln MKS, for having received a safety badge along with its already renowned luxury and class.
